By the 1970's, Louis Vuitton luggage was the perfect way to signal your status to your fellow travelers, and the exclusively French-made bags were hugely popular in the United States. The factory in France couldn't produce them fast enough. Enter The French Company, the United States' most prestigious luggage company. Louis Vuitton sent The French Company bolts of their signature monogram canvas, and the only licensed Louis Vuitton knock-offs in history started being produced. The French Company made their Louis Vuitton bags until Louis Vuitton merged with Moët & Chandon and Hennessy in the late 1980's to become LVMH.it sourced its zippers from French zipper companies Eclair and Talon. If you encounter an LV monogram bag with a YKK or other zipper, you've found a true fake.
This suitcase is in excellent condition with 2 faint scratches on the handle and one on the bag. I purchased the bag from a collector in Palm Beach, Florida. Comes with Monogram luggage tag and keys.
This is a rare find.
